Marseille is said to be interested in acquiring the services of Arsenal’s full-back Nuno Tavares prior to the conclusion of the January transfer window.
As per a recent update from transfer specialist and Caught Offside columnist Fabrizio Romano, the 23-year-old Nuno Tavares is facing an uncertain future. Tavares, currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, is not anticipated to secure a regular spot in his parent club, Arsenal. He has been made available for transfer, but Arsenal faces challenges in negotiating a mid-season sale due to the absence of a recall clause in the Portuguese defender’s loan agreement.

Despite having only 18 months left on his Arsenal contract, the terms, or lack thereof, in Nuno Tavares’ recent loan to Forestāa move now seen as a significant misstepācould hinder Arsenal from securing a substantial transfer fee.
Marseille is unlikely to wait much longer for a response, especially with just one week remaining in the transfer window. Forest, not obliged to allow the loanee to leave, puts Arsenal’s management in a position where they may seek explanations for what appears to be an uncommon error from sporting director Edu.
In his three years at the Emirates Stadium, Tavares, who spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Marseille, has only scored one goal in 28 games across all competitions
