Top clubs in battle with Ac Milan to sign another Star…….

Sheffield United is poised to compete with AC Milan and Leeds United for the acquisition of Everton’s defender, Ben Godfrey. The English international may be leaving Everton this month as Sean Dyche explores the possibility of making strategic moves in the transfer market.

Everton has already suffered consequences from Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations and a points deduction. The club might encounter additional sanctions, leading to the potential departure of some players. Godfrey is among those players, with recent links to transfers to Sheffield United and Leeds.

Nevertheless, as per The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards, AC Milan has also entered the competition for the defender. Speaking on the Transfer Gossip Daily Podcast, Edwards mentioned that it has become a three-way contest for Godfrey.

“So there are three options there. I would choose AC Milan all day every day. But I have a feeling this will come to a straight shootout between Sheffield United and Leeds United. It’s one of those debates which you can put yourself into as a football fan. These are three very different clubs, very different parameters, expectations, and situations. I think it’s a brilliant three-way choice,” Edwards stated.

Sheffield United looking at different defensive options

Chris Wilder and his recruitment team are clearly juggling multiple options. A new defender is a priority, irrespective of whether Anel Ahmedhodzic departs. Players like Mason Holgate and Godfrey from Everton, along with Wolfsburg’s Sebastiaan Bornauw, have emerged in discussions.

The final signing remains uncertain. Ben Godfrey stands out as a quality player, presenting an upgrade to the existing defensive choices. If he becomes the player secured, Blades fans would likely be delighted with the acquisition.
