‘I have no doubt’: Vincent Kompany makes claim about Burnley’s resilience after cruel Luton Town setback

Burnley appeared poised to secure a significant three points against relegation rivals Luton Town in their last match before the winter break. However, Vincent Kompany’s team was thwarted at the last moment, as Luton Town managed to score a controversial equalizer in stoppage time, with Carlton Morris finding the net.

In the crucial moment, it appeared that James Trafford was decisively fouled by Elijah Adebayo as the goalkeeper sought to secure a cross. However, both referee Tony Harrington and the VAR officials did not deem it necessary to overturn the decision, leading to controversy in the match.

If Burnley had managed to preserve their lead and secure the victory, they would currently be only three points away from safety.

Despite the unfortunate setback, Vincent Kompany is optimistic about his team’s response, stating, “We’re a resilient team. I have no doubt, I’m not worried about that,” in an interview with TNT Sports.

Vincent Kompany emphasized the resilience and culture within the team, expressing confidence that they will be ready for the next game.

He acknowledged the frustration of the controversial outcome and the lack of consequences for such incidents. Kompany conveyed that although the team might not make headlines now, they will stay positive and focus on areas to improve in the upcoming matches.
