Speaking of signing a Bologna prospect, three Milan players are held accountable for the Bologna draw

Following Milan’s 2-2 tie with Bologna, Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez, and Olivier Giroud are cited in Italian sports publications; nevertheless, Joshua Zirkzee, a star for Rossoblu and a summer transfer target for the Rossoneri, made an impression at San Siro.

Bologna held Milan to a 2-2 draw on Saturday night, with Giroud and Theo each missing a penalty kick. Zirkzee nutmegged Maignan for the Rossoblu’s first goal in the first half, and on Sunday, Italian sports publications rated all three of the France internationals worse than a six.

Based on player ratings from Italian sports papers, it was clear that Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who scored a brace, was Milan’s finest player. Another Frenchman, Yacine Adli, was not up to the task.

Zirkzee was rated highly by Bologna supporters and was the best Rossoblu player on the field. Gazzetta gave him a 7/10 rating, while Corriere dello Sport gave him a 7.5/0. Lewis Ferguson, a Scottish international, was equally impressive at San Siro, with scores of 6.5/10 from Tuttosport and Corriere dello Sport but just 5.5/10 from Gazzetta.

Zirzkee, Ferguson, and Bologna coach Thiago Motta—who was dismissed for dissent following Milan’s first penalty kick—are all reportedly on Milan’s radars for the upcoming campaign.
