In the latter stages of the winter market, the Ireland international is reportedly drawing interest from transfer agencies, according to Sky Sports.

As part of a loan deal, the Serie A team has attempted to bring the striker to the Italian top division.

It is thought that an option to buy provision may turn the loan move into a permanent deal in the summer.

Including 12 starts, Idah has made 28 appearances for the Canaries in the Championship this season, netting six goals and dishing out one assist.

Adam Idah transfer latest

In the last days of the January window, Idah has become the focus of a lot of conjecture.

Verona has their sights set on the 22-year-old in an attempt to increase their prospects of staying in Serie A beyond this season.

Verona’s current offer just includes the striker’s initial loan; it is unclear what kind of cost they could be willing to pay in the summer.

It remains to be seen whether Norwich will be willing to part ways with the forward, who might play a crucial role in David Wagner’s team competing for promotion to the Premier League.

Verona is presently 16th in the table, although they are in a close relegation battle at the bottom of the Italian first division with Empoli, who are in 19th position, only one point ahead of Verona.

Adam Idah’s role at Norwich

Since making his senior football debut, Idah has been a member of Norwich after rising through the academy ranks.

During his tenure at Carrow Road, he gained Premier League experience and was called up to the Ireland national team.

Only Jonathan Rowe has scored more goals for the squad in the Championship this season than the striker.

Despite not being a reliable starter for the team, Idah’s six goals this season have shown that he is a crucial member of the team.

Although he has lagged behind Josh Sargent in Wagner’s first team ambitions, he might still be useful as the Norfolk side looks to finish in the top six in the second half of the season.

Norwich is currently two points outside of the play-off spots in ninth place in the second tier standings.

Wagner’s team lost 1-0 to Leeds United on Wednesday, meaning they have played one more game than the majority of their promotion competitors.

A 5-2 loss against Liverpool over the weekend also resulted in the team’s elimination from the FA Cup this year.

On February 3, Norwich will play a crucial home match against Coventry City, who are currently ranked sixth.

Would be a surprise if Norwich sold Idah

In spite of this interest, Norwich would be well to stick to their guns and preserve Idah.

Although the Irishman has proven this season that he can be a valuable rotational player and off the bench, a loan move with a buyout option isn’t the most profitable deal.

Losing him may make the squad appear to be lacking in offensive options because injuries might also force him to earn another spot in the starting lineup.

With a deal that expires in the summer of 2028, Idah gives the Canaries significant negotiating power.
