Paik, who was most recently at Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and was also connected to Sunderland, joins as a free agent. It’s believed that clubs from all around Europe competed fiercely to sign him.

But when he returns to play football in Europe, he has decided to join fellow countrymen Choe Yu-ri and Cho So-hyun who have joined Blues ladies.

He would play in La Liga against Barcelona as well. Later that year, he signed a three-year contract to play for German second-tier team Darmstadt 98, but he quit the team. He went back to his own country in 2021 to play for Jeonbuk, the reigning K League winners.

The 26-year-old has also made 15 appearances for his nation, appearing in a match against Brazil in the 2022 World Cup, when he scored an incredible long-range goal.

In the middle of the park, where Mowbray is searching for players to assist in transitioning the club to a more possession-based style, he shows up to compete for a spot. In an interview with BirminghamLive, the manager welcomed Paik to the Blues and said, “He plays forward, shoots from distance, plays good passes, and runs all day.”

“I have worked with South Koreans in the past; they are incredible people who work hard, pay attention, and strive to improve. We anticipate his arrival and hope that it will enable us to proceed.
