Paul Kuharsky of the Tennessee Titans has reported that Ryan Crow, the coach of the outside linebackers, has been fired. Crow becomes the latest in a long list of coaches on Mike Vrabel’s staff to be let go, including Charles London, the quarterbacks coach, and offensive coordinator Tim Kelly. Brian Callahan, the new head coach, is organizing things.
After joining the Titans in 2018 with Vrabel, Crow had spent the previous six seasons as an Ohio State coach. Crow was the assistant coach for special teams in 2020 and was promoted to outside linebackers coach in 2021, having previously spent two seasons as a defensive assistant. Crow has contributed to the Titans defense’s success as a pass-rushing unit.
Two Titans pass rushers achieved double-digit sacks this past season. Denico Autry, aged, recorded a career-high 11.5 sacks. After suffering an ACL injury last year, Harold Landry III regained his form, accumulating 10.5 sacks. Even though Autry missed five games during the regular season due to injury, he led the defense in 2022 with eight sacks and a then-personal-best 45 quarterback pressures.
Callahan is currently in the process of assessing the other employees. One outside candidate for defensive coordinator has been interviewed in person, while three prospects for offensive coordinator have been selected. Callahan is getting closer to making the important choices that will shape his team.
