Tense conclusion Although Dalton Schultz moved teams during the previous summer, he hopes to stay put this year.

After playing his first five seasons with the Cowboys, Schultz signed a one-year contract with the Texans. Throughout the season, rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud found Schultz to be a consistent target. In the regular season, Schultz caught 59 passes for 635 yards and five touchdowns; in the postseason, he added six more catches for 80 yards and one touchdown.

In an interview this week with SportsRadio610, Schultz stated that he was hopeful about negotiating a new contract and that he would like to continue collecting passes from Stroud.

Schultz remarked, “I’d love to be in Houston.” “That is beyond dispute. I had a great time. Unique group, unique quarterback. I adore the coaches, the scheme, and everything about Houston. I have no doubt that we can work things out.

After interviewing for head coaching positions throughout the league, offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik will return to the Texans, and the return of Schultz will increase their prospects of enjoying the same kind of offensive success as they did when winning the AFC South this year.
