Leeds United and the 49ers are preparing to sue another Premier League team for millions of dollars in damages

If Nottingham Forest is judged to have violated profit and sustainability regulations this season, influential Leeds United players are reportedly getting ready to file a second lawsuit against the Premier League.

Leeds United now in line to complete major deals via 49ers ownership

Leeds, with 30 games played and 60 points afterward, is battling hard to reclaim a spot in the Premier League this season. They are aiming for the automatic promotion spots.

They were demoted from the premier league last season due to their own mismanagement, but in the interim, it didn’t help that other clubs were starting to get caught breaking FFP regulations.

Nottingham Forest and Everton facing P&S Premier League charges

Everton and Nottingham Forest were charged with another offense in January, following their 10-point loss from the Premier League for breaking profit and sustainability regulations.

The violation concerns both teams’ inability to keep within the three-year window of permitted losses in the face of Forest’s outrageous post-promotional spending in the Premier League.

Last season, Forest and Everton placed 16th and 17th, respectively, while Leeds and Leicester City were the two teams that lost out on promotion, placing 18th and 19th.

Leeds preparing to launch legal battle with Forest

According to Football Insider, Leeds and the 49ers want to file a lawsuit against the Premier League in the event that Forest is found guilty of this violation after the current inquiry is completed.

If Forest is found guilty here, it is said that legal actions from Leeds and other parties could open the floodgates for them.

Leeds would want compensation for their relegation at the hands of Forest and Everton as part of their campaign for “justice.”

The Premier League is not a level playing field, top to bottom

Leeds, Southampton, and Leicester are demonstrating the extreme inequality in the top tier, despite the obvious differences between the Premier League and the Championship.

While other clubs were demoted despite staying within their budgets, these clubs have effectively scammed their way to survival.

In the long run, a deduction is not a big deal if Forest can make a name for themselves in the Premier League.
