According to Fehervar FC, Charlton called off a George Dobson trade that was scheduled to close on Monday.

The skipper of the Addicks team was ready to board a flight to Budapest on Monday in order to complete a transfer that would have taken effect right away because the Hungarian transfer window is still open.

However, Fehervar has released a statement stating that the move is no longer happening and that Dobson will formally join them on July 1st, the day his terms with Charlton expire.

The midfielder will play for our team starting on July 1 after “our club recently agreed on all terms with George Dobson’s club regarding the immediate transfer in February, however the London club backed out of the deal at the last minute,” according to a statement on their website.

Attila Balogh, managing director of Fehervar, stated: “It appeared that George Dobson could join us prior to the deadline of February 14th.” The young midfielder’s family had already relocated, the parties had agreed on all terms in writing, and our club had arranged for the customary medical exams and documentation, but his present club abruptly withdrew from the transfer.
