Lincoln City boss Michael Skubala has revealed that his side have inside information on Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones’ methods from his former assistant Chris Cohen.
Jones was named Charlton’s new manager, and the team lost 2-0 to Reading in his debut match in command this past weekend.
In the Addicks’ relegation struggle, Jones will be eager to win his first game as Charlton’s manager against Lincoln on Tuesday.
Skubala disclosed that Lincoln has received inside knowledge about the Charlton manager’s strategies via Cohen, who collaborated with Jones while he was at Southampton and Luton Town.
Although Tuesday’s match will be Jones’ second as Addicks manager, the Imps manager acknowledged that he still has some element of surprise, but emphasized that they are aware of what Charlton might do to them.
The good news, in my opinion, is that Chris Cohen, who has known Nathan for a few years, has given us some inside knowledge, so we have some idea of what he might do. But once more, it’s a fresh position for him,” Skubala informed the journalists in Lincoln.
Since the set of participants is new, you must constantly make educated guesses.
“I think we know what they are going to do, but we obviously watched the Reading game already, and they were competitive in that game, so I think they have the advantage of surprise on us if they do something different.
It’s unclear if Jones can keep Charlton in League One since they are only one goal above the relegation zone on goal differential.
