The Houston Texans have discovered the cornerstone of their team.
With one of the best rookie quarterback seasons this game has ever seen, C.J. Stroud has already cemented his place among the best.
Interestingly, it appears that he might have succeeded in a different sport.
In an interview with Micah Parsons for his podcast, Stroud disclosed that he had a dominating game against an NBA rookie.
The Ohio State product reportedly scored 40 points against Miami Heat rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr., the opposing team’s leading center, while playing varsity basketball (via Bleacher Report).
It appears that Stroud was destined for the big game because of the way his athleticism transferred to football.
Stroud entered the league as the No. 2 choice after a spectacular NCAA career with the Buckeyes, and he easily won Offensive Rookie of the Year.
The Houston Texans won a divisional championship this year after winning just three games the previous season thanks to him.
For the majority of the season, he had MVP-caliber performances, even leading the squad to their first postseason victory since 2019.
Some people are just destined to be successful athletes from birth.
It will be intriguing to see if Stroud can overwhelm Jaime Jaquez Jr. in a rematch if the latter challenges him to one.
