Max Scherzer of the Rangers updates in light of an injury worry
Max Scherzer, the starting pitcher for the Texas Rangers, will miss the first few months of 2024 due to surgery for a herniated disc in his back. During his recuperation, Scherzer gave a positive injury update on Monday, according to Bally Sports Southwest.
“I feel fantastic. I feel fine,” Scherzer remarked. It’s quite strange not to be in any agony but still being helpless. That’s nearly the most difficult aspect of this. Even though I’m not in pain, you still need to exercise extreme caution in everything you do. I’m making every effort to maintain my finest level of fitness. I’ll be prepared to leave as soon as I have the all clear.
The 39-year-old was acquired by the Rangers ahead of the 2023 trade deadline. Following his setback against the New York Mets, Scherzer regained his composure and contributed significantly to Texas’ late-inning success. In 45 innings thrown for the Rangers, he finished with a good 3.20 ERA. But towards the conclusion of the season, injuries limited him.
There’s no denying Scherzer’s competitive spirit and desire. In the big moments, he enjoys taking the ball and giving it his all. Regretfully, for the past few years, the three-time Cy Young champion has struggled with injuries.
Rangers, Scherzer scanning the horizon
The reigning World Series winners are the Rangers. As a result, they will be confident going into the ’24 season. With Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom projected to miss the first part of the regular season, the issue is if Texas can still play well to start the season.
