Aaron Judge of the Yankees provides a worrisome update on his persistent toe ailment.

Aaron Judge should be able to play for most of New York’s 2024 schedule, hopefully.

Yankees' Aaron Judge gives worrying injury comments

Aaron Judge provides the press with an update regarding his toe issue.

According to Gary Phillips, Judge informed reporters that while his toe has been feeling fine, “continuous maintenance” would probably be necessary. Hopefully, as Spring Training draws near, his toe won’t cause too much of an issue.

During the Yankees’ game against the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 3, his injury prognosis took an unfortunate turn. Judge made a stunning catch off a hit ball at Dodgers Stadium, crashing through a bullpen wall.

He rammed his toe against the concrete step dividing the bullpen from the field, tearing a ligament in the process. He has had difficulty staying on the pitch ever since.

In 2023, Judge made just 106 appearances during the regular season. He did, however, place 10th in the league with 37 home runs. The squad will have little trouble avenging its postseason performance if he can manage to play in the majority of New York’s games.

For the first time since 2016, the Yankees missed the MLB playoffs after finishing the season with an 82-80 record. To help Judge and the rest of their lineup, New York took strong action in free agency. It will be intriguing to observe who can contribute consistently as Spring training draws near.
