Trials for Test cricket as New Zealand confronts under-strength Africa.
New Zealand’s Wellington (AP) While fans of the lengthier format of cricket relish two of the most exciting conclusion to a test match in history, New Zealand is gearing up to take on South Africa in a series that some fear would harm the standing of the sport.
Test match cricket appeared to be at the top of the game when the West Indies defeated Australia by eight runs in Brisbane and England defeated India by 28 runs in Hyderabad.
However, New Zealand will take against a South Africa squad that has been completely devoid of its best players and kept at home for a domestic Twenty20 series starting on Sunday at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.

“I fail to see why there isn’t a standard premium set fee for test matches, as established by the ICC and the wealthy nations, to encourage people to play test cricket.”
It’s suddenly a no-win situation for New Zealand in the two-test series. Though they haven’t defeated South Africa in a test series, the Black Caps haven’t dropped a series at home since March 2017.
The caliber of the South African squad will diminish any success it may have if it wins the next series; if it loses, it might be laughed at.
After recovering from a hamstring issue, former captain Kane Williamson, who will play in the opening test, stated that New Zealand needs to set those things aside.
