Breaking: New England Coach Jerod Mayo Astute And Singing Rivals Star Man

Surprisingly, the New England Patriots select third overall in the latest NFL Draft projections.

It is obvious that the New England Patriots require a great deal of assistance in order to return to their former glory. But how will Jerod Mayo begin his time as the head coach in Foxboro, given that there is an apparent need at every position on the offensive side of the ball? Will Mayo and company choose to build around the rest of the squad before selecting the team’s next signal caller, or will the third overall pick be a quarterback?

Jerod Mayo is the right successor to Bill Belichick for the Patriots - Sports Illustrated

“The Patriots’ apparent choice at No. 3 overall is to select a young quarterback, like LSU’s Jayden Daniels, who won the Heisman Trophy. It makes sense from an analytical standpoint. Not the most audacious move, though. The riskiest strategy would be to select the Ohio State receiver in the first round, pair him with a seasoned backup quarterback who is available in free agency, and then take a chance on a quarterback in the later rounds.

The ideal senior quarterback caretaker? In 2016, Jacoby Brissett was selected by the Patriots in the third round of the draft. Brissett has put up a string of surprisingly decent games over his career; his greatest campaign was in 2022 with the Browns. And who was that Browns offensive coordinator? Alex Van Pelt, the recently appointed coordinator for the Patriots.

The Patriots can then utilize a lower-round choice on a passer who can grow behind Brissett if Brissett continues to throw to Harrison. Spencer Rattler (South Carolina) in the third or fourth round, or Michael Penix Jr. (Washington) in the second, could be options.
