After a 15-game layoff, a Newcastle United player gives an eight-word update on their injury return.
Harrison Ashby, a defender for Newcastle United, updated his social media following his most recent injury setback against Swansea City.
Following an injury setback while on loan at Swansea City from Newcastle United, Harrison Ashby is back on the turf.
With a hamstring injury, Ashby missed 11 games before making a brief comeback last month. The 22-year-old sustained another muscular injury after just three games back with Swansea City, which has sidelined him for four further games.
He will also be absent from this weekend’s Championship game against Sunderland.
Luke Williams, the manager of the Swans, stated: “Our players are improving well.” Harrison Ashby wasn’t on a set date, but he was out [on the grass]. A picture of Ashby jogging at the Swansea training ground was also shared on social media, with the message, “Sun is shining and back on the pitch.”
Ashby left West Ham United for Newcastle in January of last year, reportedly paying £3 million. Despite not playing for The Magpies in his first half of the season, he participated in the preseason and scored a late goal in a July friendly against Rangers.
He signed a season-long loan with Swansea City in the summer, however he has yet to make his competitive debut with The Magpies. With 16 games under his belt, Ashby’s first senior goal came in a 2-1 loss to Preston North End back in August.
