ESPN Report: Top NFA Experienced Man In Talk To Join Kansas City Chiefs

In a season where Ron Rivera was coaching for his job, the Washington Commanders thought former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy would be the much-needed remedy to rejuvenate their offense in 2023.

Bieniemy assisted Kansas City in winning three Super Bowls, although he was never hired as head coach, in contrast to many other successful offensive coordinators. This is true even though they were a crucial part of the Chiefs’ rise to become a dynasty.

Patrick Mahomes once stated, “EB is going to be harsh on you.” He will make a sincere effort to bring out the best in you each and every day. When you’re unwilling to hold yourself accountable, he’ll make sure you do. Through his guidance, I improved as a player.
In the end, he was the offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders for just one season. The team’s offensive performance—which ranked 24th in the league in yards per game and 25th in points per game—did not live up to expectations as they finished 4-13 and in last place in the NFC East.

Compared to his tenure as the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2018 to 2022, this was a far cry.

As the NFL’s gold standard during that period, Kansas City made it to three Super Bowls, won two Lombardi Trophies, and advanced five times to the AFC Championship Game. Although having Patrick Mahomes at center undoubtedly helps, Bieniemy’s rise to fame during that period came from his past roles as an assistant for the Minnesota Vikings, Colorado, and UCLA.

OC Eric Bieniemy, a former member of the Washington Commanders, says he decided to leave the team.

Following Rivera’s dismissal, Bieniemy’s future in Washington was called into question when Dan Quinn was named the team’s new head coach.

Quinn appointed Kliff Kingsbury, a former head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, as the team’s new offensive coordinator very swiftly, but Bieniemy was still bound by contract, so it was unclear if he would seek a job elsewhere or stay in Washington in a new capacity.

Quinn stated he had spoken with Eric Bieniemy and really liked the intelligent offensive mind during his first press conference as the Washington Commanders’ new coach. However, he made it clear he wouldn’t be working with Bieniemy in this capacity.

Due to this, a lot of people assumed Quinn had decided to cut ties with Bieniemy completely. On Saturday, it was announced that the veteran NFL offensive coordinator will be joining the UCLA Bruins’ new staff as an assistant head coach and offensive coordinator.

Before deciding to attend UCLA, Eric Bieniemy claimed to have interviewed with other teams; however, he did not name the teams or jobs he had interviews for.
“I have been praised and commended during innumerable talks and interviews with numerous clubs. Bieniemy went on, “I can’t say why certain decisions were made or not made, but it had nothing to do with a lack of anything on my end.” “I will never allow my integrity, worth, personhood, or manhood to be called into doubt or compromised. Additionally, it’s not always about the money. In life, everything frequently comes down to time.

However, a startling new allegation claims Bieniemy desired clarification over his separation from the Washington Commanders.

He made it clear in an email that he is taking the UCLA position because he wants to, not because he was let go from his position as offensive coordinator at Washington.

Eric Bieniemy wrote, “I have no regrets with the Commanders.” “I was not fired, despite what some people believe and what has been reported in the media. Really, I just decided not to stay. learned a lot, which is always beneficial.

This whole thing seems a little strange, and it seems strange that he had to publicly announce his departure from the team at a time when they had obviously recruited a new offensive coordinator and the head coach had made it apparent they wouldn’t be collaborating.
