EPSN Report: How much cap space do the Eagles have?

Philadelphia Eagles Are Expected to Make the Audacious Cut of a $25 Million Star

Even though the Philadelphia Eagles’ playoff run ended tragically at the hands of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they still have next year to make up for that error. They must, however, figure out a way to cut Kevin Byard and his $25 million salary in the offseason for that to occur.

EPSN Report: How much cap space do the Eagles have?

With a 10-1 run in the NFL last season, the Eagles got out to a commanding start. Sadly, the team’s five consecutive losses have left them in second place in the NFC East division. To make matters worse, the Philadelphia Eagles defeated them 32–9 to send them out of the playoffs.

Both defensive coordinator Sean Desai and offensive coordinator Brian Johnson were fired shortly after that crushing defeat. But in order to give the front office ample space to seek other players in the offseason, the Eagles may need to let go of safety Kevin Bryad more than these two.

The Reasons Kevin Byard Must Be Removed From The Philadelphia Eagles’ Roster

Although Bryad was a useful midseason addition for the Eagles, other players can eventually replace him. For further information, see Aaron Schatz’s piece for ESPN:

“Byard was an intriguing midseason addition to the Eagles, but in the end, he didn’t do much to stop Philadelphia’s collapse in the final stretch. Although he’s a talented player, the Eagles can use him to free up salary cap room. The Eagles would save $13 million on the cap if Byard were cut, with just $1.4 million in dead money for the current campaign. How is Byard to be replaced?
