Damon Arnette, the former Buckeye, was arrested for drug and weapon charges.
According to an NFL source Ian Rapoport report, former Ohio State defensive back Damon Arnette was charged on January 6 with unauthorized handgun carrying and possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine.
The incident happened in Richardson, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, the city of his birth. Arnette, who the Las Vegas Raiders selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, has had run-ins with the law before.
In late July of 2023, Arnette was arrested in Miami for driving with a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance. In October 2022, he was also charged with causing injuries in a hit-and-run collision. In November of the same year, he was accused of verbally abusing a casino employee after misplacing his valet parking receipt.
Later that month, Arnette made an appearance on TikTok, where he brandished multiple firearms and made death threats toward an unidentified victim. This led to Arnette’s departure from the Raiders.
He joined the Miami Dolphins practice squad for the last month of the season before signing a reserve/future deal in January with the Kansas City Chiefs.
