Good News: Detroit Lions Just Confirm Two Year Deal With AN Sensational Player

One of the Lions’ important role players will remain with them.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Media, linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin and Detroit have reached a two-year agreement.

With a contract worth $7.5 million and a maximum of $8 million, he becomes the highest-paid core special teams player in the league. Reeves-Maybin will get a $2.5 million signing bonus on top of a full guarantee of $5.245 million.

Maybin, 29, spent the 2022 season with Houston before coming back to Detroit in 2023. Along with two QB hits, a sack, and a tackle for loss, he totaled 20 tackles.

Eight percent of defensive snaps and 82% of special teams snaps were spent with him on the field.

Reeves-Maybin, a 2017 fourth-round selection, has made 104 appearances in games with 14 starts. Before moving to Houston in 2022, he was a Detroit resident for his first five years of life. When he rejoined the Lions in 2023, he was a first-time Pro Bowl player and second-team All-Pro.
