Texas Longhorns Head Coach Confirm To Departure Another Key Player In NFL Draft

Longhorns Daily News: Xavier Worthy, a Texas alum, is one of the 2024 NFL Draft hopefuls who has “most to prove.”

One of head coach Steve Sarkisian’s program’s first real recruit-to-NFL-prospect instances, former Texas Longhorns wide receiver Xavier Worthy, was recently named by USA Today as one of this year’s NFL Draft prospects with the most to prove before the combine.

From USA Today: “Teams will be looking to see if the 6-1 speedster has bulked up from his rail-thin, 172-pound frame, thus Worthy’s combine likely will be shaped by the moment he walks on the scale.

Play strength is a major issue since defensive backs frequently outmuscle him when he is contested catching the ball or at the line of scrimmage. However, Worthy can be a very potent weapon as a deep danger who can also absorb rapid blows for extended gains if he can outmaneuver press covering.

Teams will also be interested in seeing how he manages drills given that his production at Texas was hindered by drops and erratic effort.
