ESPN Report: Detroit Lions Coach Particular Activity To Sign Offseason Agents

3 free agents on Detroit Lions for the Chicago Bears to sign this offseason

The Chicago Bears will check into several of their competitors to see who they can sign in free agency. Signing a player from the Detroit Lions is significant because it might benefit the Bears while also hurting the Lions. Which Lions players may become targets for the Bears this offseason?

Could the Chicago Bears get pass-rush assistance from the Detroit Lions in free agency?

The Chicago Bears will need assistance finding edge rushers this offseason, and Detroit has three rushers slated to enter free agency. The first name is Charles Harris. Harris was a previous first-round choice, and while he failed to live up to expectations with the team that picked him, he found fresh life with the Lions.

Harris recorded 7.5 sacks in 2021, but injuries have kept him back, and he has only 2.5 sacks in the last two years. However, he increased from 11 pressures on 152 pass-rush efforts in 2022 to 24 pressures on 199 pass-rush attempts in 2023.

Another name to consider is Romeo Okwara. Okwara had been with Detroit since 2018, but injuries began to detract from his performance in 2021. He had 61 pressures in 2021, but just 38 in the next three seasons. Still, the 29-year-old has some talent and would outperform Rasheem Green in a comparable situation. Harris is the greater name, but both would help the Chicago Bears’ pass rush in free agency.
