Jason Kelce announced his NFL retirement not too long ago. The veteran offensive tackle, who is expected to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, said farewell to the NFL with a heavy heart. During his speech, Kelce discussed a variety of subjects, most of which had to do with his own football career and his time spent with the Philadelphia Eagles. He also mentioned the Los Angeles Rams in passing.
I just watched the best retirement speech ever given by Jason Kelce.
Genuine, introspective, and grateful for a multitude of individuals and locations at every turn in his path.
Construct the statue right away.
What a legendary piece.

You can see the complete address here. His brief mention to the Rams occurs at the eighteen-minute mark. Kelce states:
“Learning that Carson Wentz had torn his ACL during the 2017 Rams game is something I will never forget. In the locker room, there was unease throughout the entire team. We’re all wondering what this could signify.Malcolm Jenkins spoke to the group. With his signature “We all we got, we all we need!” line, he broke down our identity and inspired confidence in who we were in a speech that was eerily reminiscent of Malcolm.
I’ve stated this previously. There are only 32 teams in the league, therefore they are all related in some way. In this instance, Carson Wentz sustained a catastrophic injury during a Rams game, which is why Kelce brings up the team. That year, Wentz had an opportunity to lead the Birds to the Super Bowl. Rather, Nick Foles, a former Ram, would lead the Eagles to victory in the Super Bowl that same 2017 season when Wentz would be injured. It’s an amazing tale.
To give this piece even more Rams flavor, there were reports that the Rams may have sought to add Kelce to the team prior to the commencement of Kelce’s eventual Super Bowl-winning season with the Eagles.
#Rams Rumors: The Rams may be able to arrange a trade involving Trumaine Johnson and Jason Kelce and selections. Kelce is a C in the top 5. tweet.com/6H6RCy9ICj

Oddly enough, Wentz’s victory for the Rams over the San Francisco 49ers came during this previous NFL season. The Rams now stand a chance to add Wentz back to their roster as the season approaches. What a turnaround for the former quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Anyway, even though Kelce brought up the Rams, his retirement is undoubtedly the more interesting development. What a journey the veteran center has had. I’m happy for him and his family. I suppose I won’t have the opportunity to write that piece about how the Rams should trade for Jason Kelce, but you never know. After all, Tom Brady did come out of retirement once. Maybe the past happens again?
Once more, congratulations and best wishes to the athlete who recently announced his retirement. We’ll just have to wait and see when Kelce brings up the Rams again. Perhaps it will be discussed in the upcoming New Heights podcast episode featuring him and his brother Travis Kelce.
