GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP)— The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired infielder Andre Lipcius from the Detroit Tigers on Monday for a cash amount. The Dodgers moved pitcher Clayton Kershaw to the 60-day injured list in order to create space on the 40-man roster.

Kershaw, the three-time Cy Young Award winner, stated that he anticipates returning in July or August following his recovery from surgery on his shoulder that he underwent in November.

During his 13 games with the Tigers last season, Lipcius hit.286 with two doubles and a home run. Before being designated for assignment last week, the 25-year-old participated in five spring training games, going 1 for 8 with a double and an RBI.

After spending four seasons in Detroit, where he was selected by the Tigers in the third round of the 2019 draft out of Tennessee, he has a.266 career batting average with 88 doubles, 38 home runs, and 212 RBIs.
