NFL insider Ian Rapoport disclosed on Saturday what former Texas Longhorn PJ Locke’s next move in his NFL career will be.

According to the article, Locke and the Broncos reached an agreement on a two-year contract that guaranteed him seven million dollars, with the possibility of earning nine. After a brief stay with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who signed him as an undrafted free agent, Locke has been with the Broncos since 2019.

Locke has been with the Broncos and been very effective for Denver since joining them as a rookie. Before Denver’s 2019 Week 1 match, he received a call after being cut and added to the practice squad. He was regrettably returned to the practice squad soon after, but in 2020 he moved on to the active roster and has been a regular ever since. His influence on special teams contributed significantly to his success and allowed him to remain in the game.

In 2024, he may have the opportunity to start for the Broncos full-time as both of their starting safeties, Justin Simmons and Kareem Jackson, are gone. In his career to date, he has racked up 84 total tackles, three sacks, four forced fumbles, six pass deflections, and one career interception, which he secured against the Green Bay Packers this past season in a manner that sealed the game.

Locke played like he was always being fired out of a cannon while he was at Texas, and it’s obvious he’s found his calling in the NFL. He’s predicted to have his finest year yet in 2024.
