BALTIMORE – The Pro Bowl running back Derrick Henry has officially signed a contract with the Baltimore Ravens.

On Thursday, he is anticipated to formally sign his two-year, $16 million contract, which will place him alongside NFL MVP Lamar Jackson. There will be an introductory news conference at 11:30 a.m.

Henry is a four-time Pro Bowl player who stands six feet three and weighs 247 pounds. Over the last six seasons, he has ran for 1,000 yards five times.

In 2023, he ranked second in the NFL with 1,167 running yards and twelve touchdowns.

Eight seasons and 9,502 rushing yards and 90 touchdowns later, Henry—a former Alabama Heisman Trophy winner—is still a member of the Tennessee Titans.

2020 saw him get the AFC Offensive Player of the Year award after gaining 2,027 running yards.

The run game was abandoned by the Ravens’ offense in their AFC Championship Game loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, which drew criticism in January.

When the agreement was first announced on Wednesday, Ravens supporters expressed their excitement to WJZ.

Anthony Meek, a Ravens supporter, stated, “I think he’s just the perfect fit.”
