Three players have left the Los Angeles Lakers, the team has announced.
The NBA squad led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis disclosed the names of players who would not be returning for the upcoming season.
While the NBA preseason is under progress, teams are beginning to decide which players will stay on their roster and who will start in the starting lineup.
The Los Angeles Lakers confirmed in a press statement this week that they had placed three players who had been temporarily signed on waivers. One of the identities revealed is Scottie Pippen, the son of the former Chicago Bulls player.
The Californian team issued a statement that said, “The Los Angeles Lakers have requested waivers on Vincent Valerio-Bodon and guards Damion Baugh and Scotty Pippen Jr.”
After playing in six Lakers games, Scotty Pippen Jr. averaged 2.3 points and logged a mere 5.3 minutes per game. On September 7, he resigned under a contract that included Exhibit 10.
However, he was unable to qualify because of the challenging circumstances he encountered, as the Lakers had already secured 14 of the 15 spots remaining for the 2023–24 NBA season.
