WINNIPEG — Andrew Harris, a running back, will sign a one-day deal with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers this month before retiring from the team, the CFL club announced Friday.

WINNIPEG — Andrew Harris, a running back, will sign a one-day deal with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers this month before retiring from the team, the CFL club announced Friday.

“Thank you for everything,” the Blue Bombers wrote on X, the platform that was previously known as Twitter, in a message that included a goat emoji and a graphic showcasing Harris’ accomplishments.

Harris, a 36-year-old Winnipeg native, guided the Blue Bombers to Grey Cup victories in 2019 and 2021.

He also won a CFL championship in 2011 with the British Columbia Lions and again in 2022 with the Toronto Argonauts.

Harris, who became the CFL’s all-time best Canadian rusher in 2019, had five 1,000-yard seasons throughout his 13-year CFL career. He appeared in 12 games for the Argonauts last season, totaling 229 running yards on 49 carries and two touchdowns.
