March 14: FLACCO TO INDY. Former Ravens, Jets, and Browns quarterback Joe Flacco has signed with the Indianapolis Colts, according to Adam Schefter.

According to the source, the 2023 Comeback Player of the Year agreed to a one-year agreement worth up to $8.7 million, with $4.5 million guaranteed.

Flacco is slated to back up starter Anthony Richardson, who is coming off a season-ending injury suffered last season.

March 13: Winston goes to Cleveland Former Saints and Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has decided to join the Cleveland Browns on a one-year, $4 million contract.

The former No. 1 overall pick in 2015 is joining his third franchise after five seasons as a starter in Tampa Bay and four as a backup in New Orleans.

Winston threw for 5,109 yards in 2019, joining only six other quarterbacks in NFL history to accomplish this feat. The others include Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, Ben Roethlisberger, and Dan Marino.

Ex-Raven Joe Flacco joined the Browns last season as an injury replacement for Deshaun Watson and Dorion Thompson-Robinson, and he led the team to a brief playoff run.

MARCH 10 WILSON SIGNED WITH PITTSBURGH Russell Wilson, quarterback for the Denver Broncos, has been informed by his organization that he will be released. Many teams looking for a franchise quarterback are showing interest, including the Baltimore Ravens’ AFC North foe, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Wilson visited with the Steelers on Friday, and according to Josina Anderson, the visit went “great,” and he spoke with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith for hours.

According to Adam Schefter, the two parties reached an agreement on Sunday night for a one-year deal that is team-friendly. The Broncos are reportedly paying $38 million of his salary.

Wilson joins an AFC North division that already boasts elite quarterbacks Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, and Deshaun Watson.

MARCH 8: BENGALS TAG TEE The Cincinnati Bengals slapped the franchise tag on wideout Tee Higgins, giving the team more time to negotiate a long-term contract with the Clemson product.

If they can’t reach an agreement, Higgins will play next season on the tag, earning a guaranteed $21.8 million.

Duke Tobin, Bengals director of player personnel, told Bengals Wire, “We want him on the roster.” There was no use in delaying this once we received the salary cap data.”

Head coach Zac Taylor stated that the team would not allow Higgins to get away.

“He’s one of the best receivers in the game, and we don’t want him to just leave the building. So when you have the ability to place a tag on him, keep him in the building, and allow him to play for us for at least another season, I believe that is vital,” Taylor said.

March 2: Xavier Worthy Impresses Decosta. Texas Longhorns wideout Xavier Worthy established a new 40-yard sprint time at the NFL Combine on Saturday, and Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta was there to witness it live.

He was evidently pleased with Worthy’s speed, as indicated by his real-time response.
Worthy ran a lightning-fast 4.21 seconds on his second attempt, breaking John Ross III’s record by 0.01 seconds. According to Next Gen Stats, the Longhorns receiver hit speeds of 24.21 mph.
