As the No. 2 option on the highest-scoring college football offense, Thomas’s stats suggested No. 1 potential. The 6-4 Louisiana native caught touchdown passes from Heisman contender Jayden Daniels for 1,117 yards and a career-high 17 touchdowns.
Thomas led the SEC in receiving touchdowns and was fourth in receiving yards and catches (68), playing the part of Robin to fellow first-round choice Malik Nabers. His 17.8 yards per reception ranked him sixth among eligible receivers. Houston, which came in ninth in passing, needs to consider adding a target because of concerns about injuries.
Dell’s season was curtailed by a leg break he sustained recently. Collins, who became the third receiver in franchise history to amass over 1,200 receiving yards in a single season after being taken out of Michigan in the 2021 NFL Draft, has missed 12 games since then.
