The NCAA transfer portal has reopened officially, and the Auburn football team is proceeding, as stated in today’s Auburn Tigers News.
As of the first day of the spring window on the NCAA transfer site, Auburn football is a live program. For the next fifteen days, from April 16 to April 30, football players can use the transfer portal to search for a new place to live.

Defensive lineman Brenton Williams became the first entry this morning when he passed through the gateway after a year on the Plains. Williams is from Opelika, Alabama, which is close to Auburn. He redshirted his freshman year and participated in two games last season.

Even though it was confirmed in March that JD Rhym was no longer a part of Auburn football and that he was anticipated to use the transfer portal upon its opening, he has yet to appear in the 247 Sports Transfer Portal database.

Since Hugh Freeze said after the spring A-Day game that there were still spots on the roster that he would like to fill, it shouldn’t be shocking if players from the defensive line and wide receiver positions join the squad in the coming days.

According to AL.com, the Tigers have already “expressed interest in” a number of athletes on the web. One is Ohio State’s Dallan Hayden, a junior running back who scored six touchdowns and accumulated 663 rushing yards in his two seasons as a Buckeye.

Another is KeAndre Lambert-Smith, a junior wide receiver and four-year Penn State player who was formerly a Nittany Lion. He hauled in 126 receptions for 1,721 yards and 11 touchdowns in 48 games played. He set franchise records for receiving yards and receptions in the 2023 campaign.

There are fifteen days for players to decide whether or not to use the portal, so be on the lookout for more Auburn football players who are moving on.
