Everton struck gold on “fantastic” ace who’s worth 2x more than Onana..

Under manager Sean Dyche, Everton has performed admirably in recent weeks, winning three straight games against Brentford, Nottingham Forest, and Liverpool to secure their Premier League survival.

Idrissa Gueye has been outstanding in the midfield, scoring in two of the team’s wins over Brentford and Forest to help them secure crucial points in their struggle to survive.

The Toffees have faced challenges this season, including an eight-point deduction for repeatedly breaking the Premier League’s PSR regulations, which jeopardized their status as an ever-present in the league.

But in the last few weeks, Dyche has turned around his team’s fortunes, hoping to establish a solid foundation in advance of the 2024–25 campaign and solidify the team’s position in the midtable.

One player’s market value has sharply increased due to his excellent recent form, and he deserves to be a key member of the Toffees squad come next season.

Numbers for Dwight McNeil in 2023–2024

Midfielder Dwight McNeil had a good first season at Goodison Park after joining the team for £20 million from Burnley in the summer of 2022. He scored seven goals and helped his teammates with three assists as the team just missed relegation.

Although he has only scored three goals overall this season, McNeil’s all-around play has significantly improved, and his stats support this improvement.

The 24-year-old is the player in Dyche is squad with the most assists (6) in the Premier League this year. His other contributions more than make up for his lack of goals.

Two of McNeil’s three goals this season, though, have come against Forest; he has been a consistent scorer against teams in and around the Toffees’ division.

The attacker has the highest average rating of any Everton player this season—7.18, according to FotMob—thanks to his outstanding performances.

The former Burnley player’s outstanding season does not end there. He has created 65 opportunities and 17 big chances in the league—tallies that none of his teammates can match.

As was already mentioned, the winger’s value has increased due to his outstanding performances, and he is currently valued more highly than one Everton talent who is being linked to a major move this summer.

The market value of Dwight McNeil in 2024

The 24-year-old “fantastic” McNeil, as described by journalist Zach Lowy, has seen an increase in his market value less than two years after moving to Merseyside. According to Football Transfers, his current valuation is £31 million.

In addition to being £11 million more than the club paid for him, his figure is also twice as high as that of Amadou Onana, who signed with the team in the same summer as McNeil for a reported fee of about £33 million.

After failing to really take off over the last two years or so, the young Belgian is now only worth £15 million, while McNeil has cemented himself as a vital member of the Goodison team.

The latter player has been outstanding during the Toffees’ challenging season, demonstrating in recent weeks that he has what it takes to be a vital member of the team moving forward.

With the wideman only being 24, he has the potential to grow into a sensational talent and increase his market value further, subsequently making the club a huge profit on their £20 million investment.
