It was difficult for me as a Cincinnati Bengals supporter to accept that my team lost to Michigan State over the Hall of fame during NFL draft weekend.
My favorite NFL team addressed their interior defensive line in the second round of this year’s draft, and I wanted to hear, “The Cincinnati Bengals select Michael Hall Jr., a defensive lineman from Ohio State University, with the 49th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.” Rather, the Bengals selected former Michigan player Kris Jenkins Jr. And although Jenkins Jr. is a fine, fine player—as well as an NFL legend—I would be lying if I claimed it did not hurt a little to choose a “Michigan Man” over Hall (Jr. implied moving forward).
