Sydney Roosters captain Boyd Cordner calls a halt to his NRL career due to repeated concussions
The Roosters, NSW, and Australia Test captain confirmed his retirement at a press conference on Monday morning.
“It was an extremely tough decision for me to make. I spent hours on hours and sleepless nights trying to find a way for me to brush it aside to play on, but for the first time in my career, I have to put my health and my happiness first,” Cordner told the media.
Boyd Cordner has become the third high-profile Sydney Roosters player to retire in 2021, forced out of the NRL because of repeated concussions.
