Conor Gallagher, a midfielder for Chelsea, has been linked to Tottenham Hotspur in recent months.
During the January transfer window, they were also interested in signing the 24-year-old England international, but he chose to remain at Stamford Bridge.
The player may be moving in the summer as it seems Tottenham is still interested in signing him. He has a 2025 contract with Chelsea, so the Blues will likely face pressure to let him go this summer. A player of his caliber is not someone they want to lose on a free transfer.
The midfield player is wanted by a number of teams, including West Ham United and Newcastle United, but reporter Graeme Bailey believes Gallagher is unlikely to be interested in moving to either place. The player would benefit from a move to Tottenham, and the North London team is eager to sign him.
It makes sense that Gallagher would pick Tottenham over Newcastle and West Ham in order to compete at the greatest level. The North London team has a strong team full of talented players. Compared to the other two clubs, they are closer to competing in the Champions League and vying for national titles.
Whether they can reach a fair fee agreement with Chelsea this summer is still to be seen.
