A Tense Interview With Lexi Thompson Is One Lasting Memory From the Year.

The Solheim Cup is quite possibly of the greatest occasion in ladies’ golf.

The current year’s occasion in Spain was special. It was trying to pull off, as it was organized at a course that was based on a mountainside.

On Friday evening, Lexi Thompson, who was at that point a dubious piece of the U.S. group since she qualified through a rankings escape clause in spite of a dull LPGA season, got an opportunity to win her Friday evening fourball match and give the U.S. a significant point.

On the standard 5 eighteenth opening, Thompson hit a strong second shot and had a direct unpredictable for birdie and a possible point.
However at that point Ireland’s Leona Maguire holed her chip went for birdie, making Thompson’s shot substantially more strain pressed. Thompson stabbed her shot and afterward needed to opening a chip from the lower part of the green to tie the opening. That was almost inconceivable and she couldn’t opening it.

The U.S. lost that match. The Solheim Cup finished in a 14-14 tie and Europe, as the reigning champ, held the Cup.

Thompson came in a while later with the American contingent and in the end I posed an inquiry about the shot:

“Lexi, might you at any point discuss that third shot on 18? There was some inquiry on the thing you were attempting to do and what you really did on the third shot. Might you at some point go through it for us?”
