Roman Gabriel Bites the dust: L.A. Rams Quarterback And Previous MVP Was 83
Roman Gabriel, who actually holds the Los Angeles Rams group record with 154 score passes, kicked the bucket Saturday at his home in Little Stream, South Carolina, at 83. His passing came from normal causes, as indicated by his child, Roman Gabriel III.
Gabriel was the No. 2 draft pick of the Los Angeles Rams in 1962 out of North Carolina State. He was the principal Filipino-American quarterback in the NFL and the association MVP in 1969.
“We grieve the deficiency of Rams legend and football pioneer, Roman Gabriel,” the Rams said on X, previously known as Twitter.
Gabriel was a double cross player of the year in the Atlantic Coast Meeting for North Carolina State. He was enlisted into the School Football Corridor of Acclaim in 1989.
He played 11 years for the Rams and five years with the Philadelphia Birds, where he was exchanged after the Rams procured John Hadl.
“Gabe was an astounding player and a far superior tutor. Words can’t make sense of my gratitude for what an extraordinary partner he was,” resigned quarterback Ron Jaworski, whom Gabriel upheld on the Hawks in his last season, posted on X. “A unique player and a superior man!”
