With two transactions made on Friday to provide depth to their pitching staff before Tuesday’s trade deadline, the Orioles came in hot.

Initially, they traded OF Christian Pache and RHP Seranthony Dominguez to the Phillies for Austin Hays. Then they made a greater impact when they traded three prospects—IF Mac Horvath, OF Matthew Etzel, and RHP Jackson Baumeister—to the division-rival Rays in exchange for RHP Zach Eflin.
Both Pache and Dominguez made their debuts last night in Baltimore. After Dominguez had pitched a scoreless inning with two singles allowed and a strikeout, Pache pinch ran for Heston Kjerstad in the eighth inning.
Eflin will toss against the Jays on Monday; Corbin Burnes and Grayson Rodriguez are ahead of him in the Orioles rotation.
