Hopefully, the day off did assist them somewhat, as the Atlanta Braves under Brian Snitker needed it.
For the Atlanta Braves, it appears that all of their recent success may be history. Entering this weekend’s series against the Miami Marlins, Atlanta was performing very good, catching up to the Phillies and other teams. The Braves need to put the pieces together after losing the last two games of the four-game series at home against the Fish.
Although Atlanta is unlikely to catch Philadelphia in the division, stranger things have happened in baseball history. It is infuriating when a team appears to be turning the turnaround, only to fall short against a team that they should otherwise defeat in a few dubious games. Although Miami has many mature guys and a sense of pride in their professional baseball club, Atlanta had to win three out of the four games.
