With injuries already mounting for the Dallas Cowboys thus early in the season, the team is bolstering their roster with depth. With a Thursday Night Football victory over the New York Giants, the Cowboys escaped a potentially terrible 1-3 start in Week 4, but in the process, they suffered injuries to defensive ends DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons.

Although Lawrence and Parsons’ injuries are not serious, it is thought that both pass rushers will be questionable for Week 5. Predictably, the Cowboys signed K.J. Henry from the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad on Tuesday to add another body to the roster. Henry agreed to a two-year contract and will now be included on the 53-man active roster, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Henry, a fifth-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft, made his debut for the Washington Commanders in 10 games and finished with 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Henry has played for Cincinnati twice in the first four games of the 2024 season, although he has not recorded a tackle.

Henry completed a successful five-year undergraduate career at Clemson, which includes a national championship as a freshman, before declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft. Henry’s finest season was his final, finishing with 51 total tackles, six passes defended, 3.5 sacks, and one forced fumble as one of the defensive team’s emotional leaders.

Cowboys expect Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence to miss time

Dallas will rely on Henry right away despite his sluggish start to his professional career, since both of their top edge rushers are expected to miss Week 5. On September 26, Parsons and Lawrence both exited the game early due to serious lower leg injuries they sustained against New York.
