4 Broncos players Bills fans need to worry about for the wild card round
What Broncos should worry Bills fans?
That’s a wrap on the 2024 regular season for the Buffalo Bills and the rest of the league. The playoff picture is set, and the Bills are facing the Denver Broncos, after the Broncos win on Sunday against the Kansas City’s back-up squad. This is the postseason, so the competition is ramping up, along with some key players Bills fans need to worry about.
1. Zach Allen
Most of the players mentioned in this article are on the defensive side of the ball, and for good reason. The Broncos are arguably one of, if not, the best defense they will face in the AFC. This Broncos defense is leading the league in sacks, which can be a issue for the Bills passing game.
This starts up front with this great defensive tackle in Zach Allen, who can wreck both the run game and the pass game. This could certainly affect this Bills offense, who uses the run game to set up the passing attack very well. If the Bills can contain Allen well enough for the Bill’s very own (Josh) Allen to progress through his reads, it could be the difference between a completion, incompletion, or worse, a turnover.
2. Pat Surtain II
Arguably the best corner back in the NFL this year, Surtain can erase one side of the field. This could be challenging for the Bills, had they had a number one target. Still though, Surtain is the real deal, and throwing in his vicinity could be hazardous for sustaining drives.
3. Courtland Sutton
This Broncos team has been good all season, mainly because of their defense, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a threat on offense. This is where Sutton comes in. Last year in the 2023 season, the Bills lost to this Broncos team which was a worse team at the time. The reason for that is some key plays made by Sutton at the time, including an unbelievable touchdown grab.
This Bills team cannot sleep on this offense, not just because of Sutton, but also because of the phenomenal job their rookie quarterback Bo Nix is doing. Most of the reason for his success, however, is done because of Sutton, so the Bills need to keep an eye on him.
4. Nik Bonitto
Bonitto is one of the best defensive edges in the entire NFL, and does not get enough credit that he deserves among the national media. Granted, the entire defensive line for the Broncos is very good, but Bonitto is the one that definitely gets more attention from opposing offensive coordinators than the rest.
He not only can rush the passer, but he has a feel for the football and where it is at all times. He can fill in the run, he can drop in coverage, and he has good enough athleticism to take away the football, whether it be making a strip sack fumble or an interception. He can definitely be a problem, so both Spencer Brown and Dion Dawkins need to be on their A-Game.
