Alabama Football’s New 5-Star Quarterback Keelon Russell Is Already Driving WAY Too Fast In Tuscaloosa

Keelon Russell Speeding Reckless Driving Alabama

Keelon Russell will compete to replace Jalen Milroe as the starting quarterback for Alabama during the 2025 college football season. The five-star freshman arrived to campus in Tuscaloosa earlier this week and will enroll early for the spring semester.

However, he drove into town at a speed that could be considered reckless.

Russell’s speedometer reflects an ongoing discourse in college football, which typically revolves around the Georgia Bulldogs. Players are driving way too fast and it is getting them in trouble. The Crimson Tide staff will need to nip this in the bud. Head coach Kalen DeBoer should also sit down with his new signal-caller as soon as possible to ensure that his speed will not cause problems in the future.

Keelon Russell drove way too fast!

At the very least, if Russell is going to drive that fast, he needs to keep it off of social media.

The drive from Duncanville, Tex. to Tuscaloosa, Ala. is approximately 600 miles on I20. The highest speed limit in the state of Alabama is 70 miles per hour. If the location tag on Keelon Russell’s Instagram story was precise and accurate, he was driving 19 miles per hour over the speed limit when he pulled into town — assuming he was still on the interstate. If he was on a rural backroad where the speed limit was 65 miles per hour or less, his speed could be considered for reckless driving.

Keelon Russell committed to the Crimson Tide over SMU, Ole Miss and 23 other scholarship offers. He is considered to be the second-best player at his position in the recruiting Class of 2025 and the second-highest ranked recruit behind only Bryce Underwood.

People were interested as we now know, Russell is (quite literally) an all gas, no brakes kind of guy. The 6-foot-3 quarterback believes he can compete for the starting job at Alabama as a freshman and dipped out on high school early to compete. He just needs to watch his speed when behind the wheel so he can stay on the field!
