Iga Swiatek, the world No. 2, remained tight-lipped about her post-match conversation with Katie Boulter after their three-hour epic at the United Cup.
Despite facing a tough challenge from Britain’s No. 1, Swiatek emerged victorious in the second match of the Poland vs GB quarter-final.
The pair had a discussion at the net and another chat at their team benches, but Swiatek chose not to disclose the details. On the second day of 2025, the 23-year-old triumphed 6-7(4) 6-1 6-4 in a match that could be remembered as one of the year’s best.

Despite struggling physically during the match, Swiatek secured victory and Poland’s place in the semi-finals. When asked about their conversation, Swiatek simply said: “Well, I said, you know, that it was a great show and great match. I wouldn’t say it was long.”
During her on-court interview, she also mentioned her physical struggles: “I took like four painkillers because also a lot hurt but I’m happy that we won and for sure I’m going to need the day off tomorrow.”
When asked if she would be present for the mixed doubles match, Swiatek humorously responded: “If they give me space to maybe lie down there and maybe take a nap I’ll be there. I can’t focus anyway. I think I’ll go to the locker room and just die!”
Team Poland is set to face Kazakhstan in the semi-final, where Swiatek may play against world No. 6 Elena Rybakina.
