Wigan Warriors Rising Forward Open to Super League Loan Opportunities with Big Picture in Mind

Wigan Warriors’ rising star, forward Tom Forber, has expressed his openness to Super League loan opportunities as he looks to further develop his career and contribute to his growth as a player. The 21-year-old has shown impressive potential in the Warriors’ forward pack, but with the highly competitive nature of the Super League, he is eager to gain more first-team experience, particularly in the form of a loan spell at another club.

Forber, who made his debut for Wigan in 2023, has been a regular in the club’s academy and development squads. However, with the depth of talent in Wigan’s senior team, he recognizes that game time may be limited in the immediate future. This has led him to consider the possibility of a loan move to another Super League club where he could get more regular match action and continue to hone his skills.

“I’m fully committed to Wigan and my development here, but I’m also keen to take on more responsibility in the Super League,” Forber said. “If an opportunity arises for a loan that can give me consistent minutes and a chance to showcase my abilities, I’d be open to it. Ultimately, I want to keep improving and be ready for when my time comes at Wigan.”

Wigan head coach Matty Peet is supportive of Forber’s desire for more playing time and has emphasized that the club’s strategy is to ensure their young talent is well-prepared for the future. “Tom has a bright future at Wigan, and we’ll work closely with him to decide the best course of action for his development,” Peet commented.

A potential loan could be a key step in Forber’s progression as he aims to solidify his place in the senior squad for years to come.
