But behind the scenes, Alabama football faced significant changes as a staggering 23 players exited the program through the transfer portal during and after the 2024 season.

This departure wave, while unsurprising in today’s turbulent college football landscape, hit Alabama hard. A total of 21 players left after the regular season and the ReliaQuest Bowl, while Naquil Betrand and Jaheim Oatis stepped away from the program before the season’s conclusion.

The Crimson Tide offense took a heavy hit, losing 12 players who collectively contributed 23 passing yards, 519 rushing yards, 485 receiving yards, seven rushing touchdowns, and two receiving touchdowns during the season. On the defensive side, 11 players exited, taking with them 92 total tackles, half a sack, two tackles for loss, two QB hurries, and seven pass deflections.

Despite the losses, Alabama has brought in nine new players through the transfer portal as they look to rebuild and maintain their competitive edge.
