Dodgers’ Secret Plan to Snag Elite Closer Tanner Scott Exposed by Analyst-Here’s What You Missed!

After winning their ninth World Series victory, the Los Angeles Dodgers made several significant offseason signings.

With an already talented squad, the Dodgers added Cy Young Award-winning starting pitcher Blake Snell, starting pitcher Roki Sasaki, and one of the best relievers, Tanner Scott.

The Dodgers have won the National League West title in 11 of the last 12 seasons and are expected to win the division again in 2025.

Scott is an acquisition that many people were unaware of until the transaction was completed, but MLB analyst David Vassegh disclosed when the team began pursuing him.

“I know the rest of the baseball world may be surprised, but I started to hear about the Dodgers targeting Tanner Scott going back to the Winter Meetings in December,” Vassegh said via MLB Network on ‘X.’

Vassegh claimed that he initially learned about the team’s pursuit of Scott during the Winter Meetings in December, and they eventually reached an agreement.

Scott inked a four-year contract with the Dodgers worth $72 million.

Scott participated in 72 games in 2024 for the San Diego Padres and Miami Marlins, finishing 9-6 with a 1.75 ERA, 22 saves, and 84 strikeouts in 72.0 innings pitched.

The Dodgers may now have a shutdown closer as well as a starting rotation that includes five potential number ones.

The Dodgers have eight World Series triumphs, but they have never won consecutive crowns.

2025 could change that, as they will most certainly be favored to win the title again, given the amount of talent on their squad.
