SHOCKING EXIT: Bills Coach Decides To Leave After Crushing AFC Championship Loss to Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs will play in the Super Bowl for the third straight season after defeating the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game. The Chiefs have ended the Bills’ previous two seasons.

The Chiefs beat the Bills in Buffalo in the divisional round last year, and the Bills lost the AFC championship game this year. If last week’s loss to the Chiefs wasn’t bad enough for Bills fans, the team desperately needs a new defensive coach.

According to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, the New England Patriots plan to hire Scott Booker, the Buffalo Nickels’ coach/senior defensive assistant.

Booker will rejoin Mike Vrabel in New England, where he is the Patriots’ head coach.
Booker joined the Bills last summer after spending six seasons with the Tennessee Titans. Booker mostly worked with Buffalo’s nickel and slot cornerbacks, who included Taron Johnson, Ja’Marcus Ingram, and Brandon Codrington.

In the AFC championship game, the Chiefs limited Johnson’s receptions to two on three targets for 25 yards. However, Mahomes targeted former first-round pick Kaiir Elam, who gave up three receptions on five targets for 36 yards.

Overall, the Bills’ secondary had no answer for Kansas City rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who had a game-high six receptions (seven targets) for 85 yards and one touchdown.

These two teams are set to face off in the 2025 season, which will be a highly anticipated clash in Mahomes’ well-known rivalry with Josh Allen. As a result, it will be interesting to watch who the Bills hire to replace Brooks, as Mahomes and the Chiefs’ passing offense will continue to put pressure on Buffalo’s secondary.
