At some point, Hokie Nation was hoping for an experienced Defensive Coordinator, at least at the upper level of FCS or Group of 5 program who had more than a couple of seasons before moving on. He doesn’t seem to have much in the way of high school recruiting chops mentioned. We’ll see if he is a portal specialist like J.C. Price. That remains to be seen.

We will be monitoring the Spring Practice, soon to start in a month or so, and certainly be covering the Spring Game on April 12th to see if we can tell if things have improved with the defense as a whole, but the Hokies are facing a tough schedule in 2025, and most of the Senior talent has moved on.
The press conference and introduction will be a 3 PM on the 28th of January. Perhaps we’ll learn a bit more about him than just how to pronounce his last name. With no more major staff moves in the works this looks to be it for 2025 and the football program. There may be some shuffling of GAs and quality control folks, but Pry has his coaching staff set and the agenda for Spring will be the next item up.
