It didn’t take long for the Washington Huskies to reveal their next offensive coordinator.
On the same morning that Brennan Carroll, Washington’s offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, left to join his father Pete Carroll’s Las Vegas Raiders coaching staff, the Huskies announced replacements for both roles during a press conference.
After losing Belichick, the UW Huskies also lose Carroll.
According to UW Huskies insider Christian Caple of On Montlake, head coach Jedd Fisch announced that Jimmie Dougherty has been promoted to offensive coordinator after serving as UW’s passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2024, and Michael Switzer has been promoted from assistant offensive line coach.
Dougherty, 46, is in his second season on the Washington coaching staff. He previously served as the Huskies’ passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach from 2009 to 2012 under Steve Sarkisian.
Dougherty joined UW last year following three years as Fisch’s passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Arizona (2021-23). He also served as UCLA’s wide receivers coach from 2017 to 20 and has worked as an assistant at Michigan (2016), San Jose State (2013-15), San Diego (2004-08), and Illinois Wesleyan (2002-03).
Dougherty played quarterback in college at Missouri from 1997 to 2001.

Switzer also accompanied Fisch from Arizona to Washington last year. He was the Wildcats’ senior offensive consultant and previously worked on the coaching staffs at Eastern Michigan, Michigan, and Indiana State, where he was the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.
Switzer was a four-year starter on the Ball State offensive line in college before joining the NFL’s Buffalo Bills in 2011.
